Our story began in 1995 with a simple conviction. Remarkable architecture deserves a landscape equal to it. Too often the land around a fine building had been left untouched.

From that belief, Vividh Landscapes was born: to create harmony between spaces and the world that surrounds them.

How we work

Seven habits of the ground

Research
(01) Research Every space begins with understanding. Our team studies soil, slope, sunlight and seasons. Our design listens before it is born.
Topography
(02) Topography Every landform tells its story. We read its rise, fall and its layers. From plains to peaks, we let nature draw the first line.
Symbolic
(03) Symbolic Moving mountains or raising one. When the land insists, we will move a mountain. When it asks for one, we will raise it.
Water
(04) Water conservation Never scarce, always sustainable. We harvest, recycle and channel water through every design.
Timelines
(05) Timelines A rhythm of precision and promise. Every project follows a rhythm, all rooted in timelines and consistency.
Transplanting
(06) Transplanting Life continued, never displaced. Each tree is lifted with precision and every root is preserved with care.
Habitat
(07) Habitat creation Landscapes that feel alive, because they are. Spaces where birds return, trees converse and people reconnect with nature.

  1. Sprout

    A practice is born

    Vividh began in 1995 with a simple conviction: remarkable architecture deserves a landscape equal to it. Too often the land around a fine building had been left untouched. The practice set out to change that, one site at a time.

    Vividh Landscape Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

    On 1 March 2005 the practice was incorporated as Vividh Landscape Consultants Private Limited. A decade of work in the ground had become a company built to last.

  3. A letter of thanks

    In May 2010 Pratap Parikh Associates wrote that the work had been carried out “successfully to our client’s as well as our satisfaction”. It is the earliest letter in this archive.

  4. A process, observed

    In May 2014 RSWM Limited wrote that “Vividh follows a structured process observing the problem, then diagnosing it according to the Climatic and Geographic Condition of the area”.

  5. Landscape at Zen Garden, Ministry of External Affairs

    New Delhi

    Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan

    From 1 November 2014 Vividh began caring for the landscape at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan, home of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. The garden made there honours the martyrs. The work of tending it continues to this day.

  6. Landscape at Malaysian Embassy, New Delhi

    The Malaysian Embassy

    Completed in 2015 after fifteen months on site, the landscape for the Malaysian Embassy in New Delhi was one of the works the practice counted among its best that year.

  7. In writing from the Ministry

    In March 2015 the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed in writing that Vividh’s “performance during this period has been found to be satisfactory”.

  8. Habitat

    Three hundred people

    By 2016 Vividh had grown to a staff of about three hundred people: architects, engineers, horticulturists and site teams, led by directors Vikas Chopra and Sameer Parashar. Work was under way for Dr. Oetker and at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan.

  9. Certification

    Thirty one years

    Thirty one years on, the work reaches across twenty states of India and on into Nepal, for more than two hundred clients. The conviction is the one the practice began with.
